Artist Statement

Yellow is my favorite color. When I wear it, see it, or use it, I feel more alive and optimistic. Much of my work revolves around wordplay and puns. I love the idea of creating new meaning from a common phrase or pop culture reference. When I saw my mask, the round shape reminded me a bit of the popular sun face image. From there I started putting pieces together, combining word phrase with the heart eyes emoji to help conceptualize and add visual fun to the piece.
